1．學生生活
例: University graduates receive higher salaries than those who have a lower education. Therefore, some people say such students should pay for all their tuition fees. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Everybody knows that there are huge poverty gap between rich-people and poor-people at present in our society. We are unable to stop rich-people becoming richer, but we have ability to help poor-people get better in the future by education. Also there is a responsibility of government.
Because of this reason, how can we ask university students to pay all their tuition fees by themselves? I believe there must some university students who come from rich family, it’s not the problems if they have to pay for their tuition fees. But also we can’t ignore the rights of poor students who want to enter university. It’s not impossible, they might be unable to afford the fees. If government make law to ask all university students pay for their tuition fees, there must over one in third of students have to give up of enter university.
Naturally, if they can’t get higher educational background, they can’t find good job and higher salary as well. So poor people become poorer and rich people become richer gradually. It spreads poverty gap much more than before.
As the foregoing opinion of mine, I’m disagree of university students have to pay for their all tuition fees by their own, merely because they might be receive higher salaries in future. Opposite, I think government should try to help the people who have lower education to enhance themselves. No matter in education or another training to help them qualified to get higher salaries, and shorten the poverty gap.
2．家庭生活
例：Modern lifestyles mean that many parents have little time for their children. Many children do not get as much attention from their parents as children did in the past. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
In the modern society today, a large number of parents spend their time in the job. Due to this situation, many children do not get much attention from their parents as children did in the past. Of course I admit of children get more comfortable life than before, also children probably having higher living standard as well. Nevertheless, what are the children really want? Is the money? Is the computer? Or is the attention from their dad or mom? The otherwise, what does the parents want to leave in the childhood of their children?
In my opinion, I agree with many children do not get much attention from their parents as children did in the past. In addition, I understand the parents wish to giving better life to their children, therefore, they work harder than before, because of this, the parents lost the time to accompany with their children and unable to pay attention to their children as the children did in the past, but I think the most important thinking is “there are not thing important than the attention from the parents to children”. We should know the rich material life can’t replace the care from parents of children. One of parents’ responsibilities is take good care to their children, also parents should spend more time to teach children.
In conclusion, modern lifestyle changed relationship between parents and children, many parents misunderstand the meaning of bring up of children, they thought “bring up of children” means giving money to their children, giving anything the children want is love. But actually it totally wrong, the most important part of bring up must be pay attention to children, care them, teach them, not only spend money of them.
3．現代科技
例: Computers do not help children to learn more effectively. On the contrary, their usage has a negative effect on both the physical and mental development of young people. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Everybody believed that 21 century will be the artificial intelligence world, computer use in everywhere such as hospital, school, air flight, even in the all family. Because of computer becoming more and more important than before, a large number of children had be taught to use computer. But surprisingly, the computer do not help children to learn more effectively, opposite, their usage has a negative effect on both the physical and mental development of young people. I’m not surprised in this situation, because there are too much information around this virtual world-Internet such as pornography pictures, pornography films, violence films, one night stand website…etc. I think we all agree with young people haven’t enough mature mind of recognize what’s good and what’s bad. Firstly, children might be though it is funny, but after they addict to it, it just like poison, slowly and keep going poisoning children’s mind.
In Taiwan, over half of children addict by on-line computer game or net pornography. Also, they overnight for chatting with friend on internet. In the same time, they probably download harmful pornography film from internet. Because of those wrong usage, the children becoming anti-social, and has a negative effect on physical and mental development.
In my opinion, I think parents should take must responsibility of guard their children use computer in the right way. Help the children keep away from net pornography and violence. Use internet in browse useful information and not spend too much time at chatting with friend or playing on-line computer game. I think must parents have to pay more attention on their children, keep eyes on what their children doing. The parents have to know spoil children is a way to slowly poison them as well.

例：Advertisements are getting their way into people’s lives. Discuss the effects of advertisements on people. Should all ads be banned? 廣告充斥人們的日常工作和生活。討論廣告對人們的影響。廣告該不該禁止。
5．傳統與發展
例：In the course of urban development, we often find ourselves confronted with the old building problem. Some people think we should pull down the old houses and buildings in the way; however, others argue that it is a very rash decision to tear them down without full consideration. What’s your opinion?

例：Should experiments be conducted on animals for the benefit of human beings?
